5. The minutes of all meetings of the Senate held since the last preceding meeting of the Council shall be laid on the table at each meeting of the Council.

6. The minutes of all meetings of the Council and Senate held since the last preceding meeting of the Court shall be laid on the table at each meeting of the Court.

7. The minutes of all meetings of the Boards of the Faculties held since the last preceding meeting of the Senate shall be laid on the table at each meeting of the Senate.

8. In case of equality of votes on a question at a meeting of the Court, Council, Senate, the Board of any Faculty or any committee, the president or chairman of the meeting shall have a second or casting vote in respect of that question.

Statute 7.

The Court.

1. The Court shall consist of--

(1) the Chancellor, the Vice-Chancellor and the Treasurer: (2) the following life members—

The Right Honourable Frederick John Dealtry Baron

Lugard, P.C., G.C.M.G., C.B., D.S.O., LL.D.;

The Honourable Sir Henry Edward Pollock, kt., K.C., LL.D.; Francis William Clark, M.D., M.R.C.P., D.P.H.,

and such other life members as the Court may appoint.

No person shall be appointed a life member of the Court unless he is nominated by a majority of two-thirds of the members of the Court and his appointment is approved by the Chancellor:

(3) the following members ex officio-

the Chief Justice;

the members of the Executive Council; the members of the Legislative Council;

the Director of Public Works;

the Director of Medical Services;

the Director of Education;

if not included in the foregoing classes.

the Chief Manager of the Hong Kong and Shanghai Banking Corporation, or the person for the time being in charge of the business of the said corporation in Hong Kong;

the Professors of the University;

the Deans of the Faculties;

the Registrar, and

Constitu- tion.

(4) twenty-eight menibers, not being already included in any Nominated of the foregoing classes and being resident in the Colony, to be members. appointed by the Governor; of these not less than nine shall be Chinese, not less than three shall be registered graduates and nominated by the registered graduates of the University, and not less than three shall be representatives of the grant-in-aid schools and selected from among the nominees of the governing bodies of such schools.

2. The appointment of each member of the Court shall be notified in the Gazette.

3. Vacancies shall be filled as they occur or as soon thereafter as conveniently may be.

4. Any member of the Court except an ex officio member may resign by writing addressed to the Court.
